Money Dumpling Bags

Ingredients:

[Filling]

  • 200g ground pork or chicken
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped scallions
  • 5 prawns, chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp salt

[Dipping sauce]

  • Woh Hup Garlic Chilli Sauce

Preparation:

1. Prepare the filling:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, prawns, scallions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, white pepper, and salt.
  • Mix until the ingredients are well combined and slightly sticky. Set aside.

2. Assemble the dumpling bags:

  • Place a popiah skin on a flat surface and add about 1 tsp of filling in the center.
  • Gather the edges of the wrapper around the filling, forming a pouch.
  • Use a blanched chive or green onion stalk to tie the top of the pouch, securing it in place.

3. Cook the dumplings:

  • Frying Method: Heat oil in a small wok at medium heat. Arrange the dumpling bags and fry until they turn golden brown.

4. Serve:

  • Arrange the dumpling bags on a plate and serve hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
